[aktuality/BG_seminar_1.jpg]The first workshop of the new integration training course for migrants "Know your country, know your rights" took place on 12th of September 2009.It is open for anybody who wants to live and work in the Czech Republic. The course is divided into two blocks. The morning part is targeted on those, living in Prague whereas the afternoon session is open for people settled in smaller towns and villages in the regions.

What are the countries our participants come from? The list contains countries on four continents, such as Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Congo, Vietnam, Byelorussia, USA, Mongolia and Russia.  Though some of the participants speak only basic Czech, they work very well as a group and help each other to understand and fill in the tasks they are given during the course. This is very important since the programme of the seminar is quite interactive, mixing lectures with exercises, discussions and role-plays.

What are the exact topics of the course?

1. Czech society, habits and traditions, family and gender relations. (12th September)
2. Fundamental labour legislation and labour-market relations (19th September)
3. Key moments and personalities in Czech history (3rd October)
4. Political and institutional system (10th October)
5. Finding a job in the Czech Republic (17th October)
6. Czech cultural highlights (24th October)
7. Health care system (7th November)
8. Political geography of the Czech Republic (14th November)
9. Social care and services (21st November)

This project was supported by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in the framework of financial mechanism EEA and Norwegian financial mechanism by means of the foundation NROS (Nadace rozvoje občanské společnosti).
